The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (6-26) and the Brockton Rox (15-14) volleyed the lead five times on Saturday, but the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs came out on top for a 7-5 win on Saturday at Doyle Field.

The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs held off the Brockton Rox, as the Brockton Rox were unable to overcome a three-run fourth inning deficit.

The Brockton Rox scored on a two-run home run by Joe Gallub in the fifth inning and an RBI single by Vito Perna in the seventh inning. Still, the Brockton Rox couldn't catch the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs.

Vin Teixeira had a hot bat for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. Teixeira went 2-3, drove in one and scored three runs. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Alex DiSanto improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He allowed four runs over four innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

Michael Romano was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
