An ace performance by Andrew Shoemaker led the Medicine Hat Mavericks (31-15) to an 8-1 win over the Moose Jaw Miller Express on Sunday at Athletic Park.

Shoemaker picked up the win for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. Shoemaker allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out six over nine innings of work.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks blew out the Moose Jaw Miller Express (21-25) thanks to 14 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Medicine Hat Mavericks scored two runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Joel Lutz and a groundout by Bubba Dotson.

Grant Silva racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He doubled in the fifth inning.

Conor Lillis-White (1-3) took the loss for the Moose Jaw Miller Express. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked five and struck out two.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks easily handled the Moose Jaw Miller Express pitching as six hitters combined for 12 hits, six RBIs and eight runs scored.
