The Medicine Hat Mavericks (20-8) pounded the Edmonton Prospects (6-19) on Saturday 10-2 at Telus Field.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks scored five runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Reid Fischer, a two-run single by Collin Hetzler, a double by Ben Smith, a groundout by Bryan Arthur, a groundout by CJ DeDeaux, and a double by Ben Schubert.

It was a good day at the plate for the Medicine Hat Mavericks' Fischer. Fischer went 4-5, drove in one and scored two runs.

Brandon Compton was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Medicine Hat Mavericks batters and allowing two runs.

Colton Rudd got the win, running his season record to 4-1. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Rudd struck out four, walked one and gave up nine hits.

Craig George couldn't get it done on the mound for the Edmonton Prospects, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked one and struck out three.
