A superb effort by Taylor Wright led the Weyburn Beavers (10-16) to a 7-0 win over the Yorkton Cardinals (8-20) on Thursday at Tom Laing Park.

The Weyburn Beavers' Wright kept the Yorkton Cardinals off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out six.

The Weyburn Beavers' bats came to life in the seventh inning. The Yorkton Cardinals had no answer as the Weyburn Beavers scored four runs.

Ranny Lowe racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Weyburn Beavers. He tripled in the third innings and singled in the seventh inning.

Max Chadsey (1-2) took the loss for the Yorkton Cardinals. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
