The Regina Red Sox outlast the Edmonton Prospects in extras, 8-7

The Regina Red Sox (17-3) needed 13 innings on Friday to take down the Edmonton Prospects (5-13) 8-7 at Telus Field.

With the score tied at seven, Cody Maas came to the plate and singled, bringing home Randy Ramirez.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to 13 lead changes in the game.

Chris Untereiner had three extra-base hits for the Regina Red Sox. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the third, seventh, and ninth innings.

Chris George improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Regina Red Sox. George struck out three, walked none and gave up four hits.

Tanner Knutson couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Edmonton Prospects, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out eight, and allowed two runs.

Untereiner, Ramirez and Josh Young helped lead the Regina Red Sox. They combined for nine hits and three RBIs.
