Derek Wallace brought home the winning run to give the Weyburn Beavers (8-14) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Weyburn Beavers hung on to beat the Swift Current Indians (8-9) 3-2 on Thursday.

Matthew Kinney reached on an error to start the sixth. He then went from first to third on a sacrifice fly by DeMontez Jones. Finally, Wallace came to the plate with the score tied at two in the sixth inning, and reached on an error, plating Kinney.

Luke Hawkins picked up the win for the Weyburn Beavers. Hawkins pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out two.

Alex Tufts (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
