After five lead changes in Thursday's game at Pirie Field, the Edmonton Prospects (4-11) finally pulled out a 3-2 win over the Melville Millionaires (9-8).
The Edmonton Prospects finally managed to grab the lead after a strong tenth inning. A groundout by Jamie Mitchell scored Brandon Bufton and gave the Edmonton Prospects the lead for good.
The Edmonton Prospects were led by Ethan Sterkel's hitting. Sterkel went 4-5, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth, fifth, and tenth innings.
Chris Allen pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out five.
Tanner Knutson improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Edmonton Prospects. Knutson struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits.
Zachary Hobbs ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
