The Okotoks Dawgs outdone by Dezarn and the Edmonton Prospects, 9-5

Aubrey Dezarn went 2-5 and hit a home run, helping the Edmonton Prospects (1-5) to a 9-5 victory over the Okotoks Dawgs (3-3) on Friday at Seaman Stadium.

He homered in the seventh inning and singled in the ninth inning.

The Okotoks Dawgs had no answer for Markus Fergusson, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Okotoks Dawgs managed just two hits off of the the Edmonton Prospects' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Austin Voros racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Okotoks Dawgs. He singled in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings.

Cashtyn DeLeeuw recorded his first win for the Edmonton Prospects even though he allowed five runs over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out seven, walked three and surrendered six hits.

Hunter Herdt was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out two.
