Edmund Cheatham was cold coming off the bench, but Cheatham warmed up quickly as Cheatham stroked a key pinch-hit triple in the two to lead the Terre Haute Rex (38-22) to a 2-0 win over the Danville Dans (17-43) on Monday at Bob Warn Field.
With the game scoreless in the second inning Cheatham came to the plate and tripled, plating Michael Eberle and Kyle Zimmerman.
Cheatham racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Terre Haute Rex.
Ben Dartnell had an impressive outing against the Danville Dans' lineup. The Danville Dans managed just one hit off of the the Terre Haute Rex's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his five innings of work.
Mat Snider couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Danville Dans, taking a loss. He lasted just eight innings, walked none, struck out eight, and allowed two runs.
