The Springfield Sliders (11-21) had a tough outing on Wednesday, as the Danville Dans (10-22) dominated in a 9-2 win at Robin Roberts Field.
The Danville Dans scored three runs in the sixth on a two-run error and a groundout by Tyler Fullerton.
Andrew Daniel had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the third inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and homered in the ninth inning.
The Danville Dans relied on Max Homick to eat up innings en route to the win. Homick pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and six walks while striking out three.
Matt Highland went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Springfield Sliders. He singled in the fifth and ninth innings.
