A wild pitch, scoring Zac Zdanowicz and Gregory Allen gave the Quincy Gems (18-13) the lead in the sixth inning, and the Quincy Gems hung on to beat the Danville Dans (9-22) 8-7 on Sunday.

Nick Tindall had a hot bat for the Quincy Gems. Tindall went 2-5, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning and singled in the eighth inning.

The Quincy Gems staved off the Danville Dans as the Danville Dans were unable to match the Quincy Gems down the stretch.

The Danville Dans scored two runs in the ninth on and a groundout by Evan Powell. Still, the Danville Dans couldn't catch the Quincy Gems.

The Danville Dans couldn't get anything going so long as Nick Day was on the hill. The Danville Dans managed just three hits off of Day, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his five innings of work.

Mat Snider (1-2) took the loss for the Danville Dans. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked three and struck out four.
