A five-run explosion in the sixth inning lifted the Quincy Gems (12-9) to a 9-2 win over the Terre Haute Rex at QU Stadium on Saturday.

Nick Day pushed the Quincy Gems ahead, in the sixth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. With the score tied at two, Day came to the plate and homered, bringing home Nick Tindall and Matt Munoz.
