The Danville Dans make the most of 4 hits in 5-4 victory over the Hannibal Cavemen

Both the Danville Dans (7-13) and the Hannibal Cavemen (11-9) put runners aboard on Wednesday, but it was the Danville Dans that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-4 win at Clemens Field.

The Danville Dans held off the Hannibal Cavemen, as the Hannibal Cavemen were unable to overcome a three-run fifth inning deficit.

The Hannibal Cavemen scored two runs in the ninth on an RBI double by Jake Wolf and a sacrifice fly by Daniel Peters. Despite their efforts, the Hannibal Cavemen couldn't finish the comeback.

The Danville Dans relied on Max Homick to eat up innings en route to the win. Homick allowed no earned runs, four hits and one walk while striking out three over seven innings of work.

Tyler Stuerman (0-3) took the loss for the Hannibal Cavemen. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
