Andrew Elliott held the Slippery Rock Sliders (2-5) scoreless for six innings to boost the Butler Blue Sox (4-4) to a 7-4 victory.
Elliott allowed five hits, two walks and struck out 12.
Kyle Petty was solid at the plate for the Butler Blue Sox. Petty went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the first and fifth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.
Jim Miller ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
