The Cotuit Kettleers survive the Falmouth Commodores 7-6 thanks to Ford's late-game heroics

Mike Ford drove in the winning run to give the Cotuit Kettleers (8-9) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Cotuit Kettleers hung on to beat the Falmouth Commodores (10-7) 7-6 on Wednesday.

Raph Rhymes to start the seventh. He then went from first to third on a single by Daniel Aldrich. Finally, Ford came to the plate with the score tied at three in the seventh inning, and, plating Rhymes and Aldrich.

The Cotuit Kettleers would not relinquish the lead as the Falmouth Commodores were unable to weather a four-run eighth inning deficit.

The Falmouth Commodores scored three runs in the ninth on a solo home run by Jake Rodriguez and a two-run single by Alex Maldonado. Despite their efforts, the Falmouth Commodores couldn't finish the comeback.

Aldrich racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Cotuit Kettleers. He homered in the fourth inning, singled in the seventh inning, and doubled in the eighth inning.

Ryan Connolly put together a nice outing. Connolly held the Falmouth Commodores hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

John Colella (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
