Phil Ervin went 4-4 at the plate, helping the Harwich Mariners (6-2) to a 9-5 victory over the Bourne Braves (2-6) on Friday at Whitehouse Field.

He doubled in the first inning, homered in the fourth inning, and singled in the second and seventh innings.

CK Irby had an impressive outing against the Bourne Braves' lineup. Irby held the Bourne Braves hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

John Murphy racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Bourne Braves. He homered in the first inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Eric Skoglund got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Skoglund struck out none, walked one and gave up two hits.

Jeff Thompson couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Bourne Braves, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked one and struck out four.
