The Washington Wild Things top the River City Rascals in back-and-forth affair, 11-7

The Washington Wild Things (28-39) and the River City Rascals (33-35) traded the lead six times on Wednesday, but the Washington Wild Things ended up on top with an 11-7 win over the River City Rascals.

Mark Samuelson boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace the Washington Wild Things. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third and sixth innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the River City Rascals' Jason Patton. Patton went 4-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the first, seventh, and ninth innings.

Justin Hall got his third win for the Washington Wild Things despite allowing six runs over five innings. Hall struck out two, walked two and gave up six hits.

Tony Marsala (4-5) took the loss for the River City Rascals. He allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out three.
