Davis gives the Lake Erie Crushers late push to beat the Washington Wild Things, 7-2

Andrew Davis brought home the winning run to give the Lake Erie Crushers (10-14) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Lake Erie Crushers hung on to beat the Washington Wild Things (9-14) 7-2 on Wednesday.

Adrian Ortiz to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a stolen base. Finally, Davis came to the plate with the score tied at two, and singled, plating Ortiz.

Davis racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Paul Fagan picked up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. Fagan allowed two earned runs, seven hits and two walks while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Chris Smith was effective even in defeat, mowing down nine the Lake Erie Crushers batters and allowing two runs.

Ross Gusky ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
