Javier Herrera racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He homered in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

David Harden kept contact to a minimum, striking out seven the Gateway Grizzlies batters. Harden allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk over eight innings.
