Nate Baumann drove in three runs, sparking the Schaumburg Boomers (52-39) to a 5-2 victory over the Southern Illinois Miners (53-37) on Tuesday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.
He singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the seventh inning.The Schaumburg Boomers relied on Robby Donovan to eat up innings en route to the win. Donovan pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, six hits and four walks while striking out four.
Brian Fowler was charged with his tenth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed three runs.
