The Evansville Otters (41-45) and the Gateway Grizzlies (51-36) passed the lead back and forth five times on Saturday at Bosse Field, but in the end the Evansville Otters pulled out an 8-7 win over the Gateway Grizzlies.
Luis Parache had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth innings and homered in the sixth inning.
David Kubiak brought the heat against the Gateway Grizzlies during his outing. Kubiak held the Gateway Grizzlies hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five.
Richard Barrett ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
The Evansville Otters' Taylor Black, Dan Killian and Parache combined for six hits and three RBIs.
