John Hochstatter kept the Holyoke Blue Sox (11-17) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Newport Gulls (21-6) beat the Holyoke Blue Sox, 9-0.

Hochstatter allowed four hits, one walk and struck out five.

The Newport Gulls blew out the Holyoke Blue Sox thanks to 14 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Newport Gulls scored four runs in the fourth on a two-run single by Austin Slater, a triple by Conor Keniry, a single by Joel McKeithan, a groundout by Kasey Coffman, and a single by Jeff Melillo.

Coffman reached base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI.

Scott Squier couldn't get it done on the mound for the Holyoke Blue Sox, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
