Conor Keniry collected three hits as the Newport Gulls (9-3) took home a 9-4 victory over the Mystic Schooners (2-12) at Cardines Field on Wednesday.

Adam Ravenelle handled the Mystic Schooners' lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. Ravenelle allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks over four innings.

Anthony Turgeon led the Mystic Schooners' offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the eighth inning.

The Newport Gulls couldn't get anything going as long as Alex Fiste was pitching. Fiste held the Newport Gulls hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Mitch Horacek got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out six, walked none and surrendered six hits.

Alex Gouin (0-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
