The Keene Swamp Bats fight back, defeat the Holyoke Blue Sox, 5-4

The Keene Swamp Bats (1-0) trailed by two in the ninth, but Brett Barrett was able to capture the lead back with a single in the ninth, spurring the Keene Swamp Bats to a 5-4 win over the Holyoke Blue Sox (1-1) at Alumni Field, Keene,NH on Friday.

With the Keene Swamp Bats trailing by one in the ninth inning, Barrett came to the plate and singled, bringing home Dylan DelaCruz and Ryan Beal.

Barrett racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Keene Swamp Bats. He singled in the ninth inning.

JP Sportman paced the Keene Swamp Bats at the plate. Sportman went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Andrew Grant put together a nice outing. Grant gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his four innings of work.

Phil Mosey was hot from the plate for the Holyoke Blue Sox. Mosey went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning.

Ryan Horstman improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Keene Swamp Bats. Horstman struck out two, walked none and gave up no hits.

Dave Spinosa ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
