Ty Moore both hit and pitched well for the Wenatchee AppleSox (33-16), but it wasn't enough as the Wenatchee AppleSox fell to the Bellingham Bells 10-7 at Paul Thomas Field at Wenatchee on Friday.
It was a good day at the plate for the Wenatchee AppleSox's Moore. Moore went 4-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the fourth, seventh, and ninth innings.
The Bellingham Bells (29-19) couldn't get anything going as long as Moore was on the mound. The Bellingham Bells managed just two hits off of Moore, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his 1 2/3 innings of work.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the eighth, with five lead changes.
The Bellingham Bells pulled out the win thanks to a strong eighth inning. A hit by pitch scored Johnny Farrington and Desmond Santos and gave the Bellingham Bells the lead for good.
Derek Atkinson racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Bellingham Bells. He singled in the first and third innings and tripled in the eighth inning.
Keith Zuniga got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over 2 2/3 innings. Zuniga struck out three, walked two and gave up four hits.
Jordan Osborn ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
