A loss looked likely for the Bend Elks (20-22) when they trailed by two runs in the seventh inning, but the Bend Elks were able to capture the lead back with a a two-run double by Nick Wagner in the eighth inning, spurring the Bend Elks to a 9-5 win over the Kitsap BlueJackets (13-34) at Kitsap Fairgrounds on Saturday.
With the score tied at four in the eighth inning, Wagner came to the plate and doubled, bringing home Grant Newton and Jake Azevedo.
Wagner racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Bend Elks. He doubled in the eighth inning.
Steven Halcomb racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Bend Elks. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth innings.
Trevor Hildenberger recorded his first win of the year for the Bend Elks. He allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered four hits.
Josh Flyer was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
