The Kelowna Falcons (19-14) were never able to get over the hump and overcome their troubles against the Wenatchee AppleSox (24-11) on Saturday, as the Kelowna Falcons fell 5-3 at Paul Thomas Field at Wenatchee after falling behind by four runs in the fourth inning.
The Kelowna Falcons scored on a solo home run by Troy Conyers and an RBI single by Cameron Alvarado in the fifth inning and a steal of home by Jace Conrad in the eighth inning. Still, the Kelowna Falcons couldn't catch the Wenatchee AppleSox.
Stephen Ventimilia racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Wenatchee AppleSox. He singled in the first, second, and seventh innings.
Beau Kerns put together a nice outing. The Kelowna Falcons managed just three hits off of the the Wenatchee AppleSox's pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out four during his six innings of work.
It was a good day at the plate for the Kelowna Falcons' Conyers. Conyers went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run.
Cord Cockrill couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Kelowna Falcons, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
