The Walla Walla Sweets (12-15) beat the Bellingham Bells (17-9) 10-2 on Friday at Borleske Stadium after a seven-run explosion in the first inning.
The Walla Walla Sweets were led by Brett Jacobs's hitting. Jacobs went 4-5 and scored three runs. He singled in the first, second, and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.
Hunter Virant got the win for the Walla Walla Sweets thanks to six strikeouts. Virant allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk over 5 2/3 innings.
Davis Engel (1-2) took the loss for the Bellingham Bells. He allowed seven runs in one inning, walked one and struck out none.
