Nick Torres brought home the winning run to give the Corvallis Knights (14-4) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Corvallis Knights hung on to beat the Cowlitz Black Bears (4-11) 3-1 on Wednesday.

Nate Blackham singled to start the eighth. He then went from first to second on a stolen base. Finally, Torres came to the plate with the score tied at one, and doubled, scoring Blackham and Connor Hofmann.

Bryan Granger's seven strikeouts were enough to push the Corvallis Knights past the Cowlitz Black Bears. Granger allowed one earned run on four hits and one walk over seven innings.

Koby Gauna (1-1) took the loss for the Cowlitz Black Bears. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
