The Wenatchee AppleSox fend off the Corvallis Knights' late push, hold on 4-2

The Corvallis Knights (4-4) weren't able to come back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Wenatchee AppleSox (7-2), and the Corvallis Knights lost 4-2 to the Wenatchee AppleSox after falling behind by three runs in the second inning.

The Corvallis Knights scored two runs in the third on an RBI double by Dane Lund and an RBI triple by Marc Gallegos. Still, the Corvallis Knights couldn't draw even.

It was a good day at the plate for the Wenatchee AppleSox's Mitchell Gunsolus. Gunsolus went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.

The Corvallis Knights couldn't get anything going so long as Lawrence Chew was on the hill. The Corvallis Knights managed just three hits off of Chew, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his four innings of work.

The Corvallis Knights were led by Gallegos' hitting. Gallegos went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the third inning.

#Beau Kerns improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Wenatchee AppleSox. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered five hits.

A.J. Burke ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
