Steven Halcomb drove in the go-ahead run to give the Bend Elks (5-2) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Bend Elks hung on to beat the Walla Walla Sweets (3-4) 4-3 on Sunday.
With the score tied at three, Halcomb came to the plate and homered.It was a good day at the plate for the Bend Elks' Halcomb. Halcomb went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and homered in the eighth inning.
The Walla Walla Sweets' lineup had no answer for Clay Bauer. The Walla Walla Sweets managed just two hits off of Bauer, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out two during his 5 2/3 innings of work.
