Both the Cotuit Kettleers (1-4) and the Brewster Whitecaps (2-3) put runners aboard on Wednesday, but it was the Cotuit Kettleers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-3 win at Lowell Park.

Alexander Weiss got on base two times in the game for the Cotuit Kettleers. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning.

The Brewster Whitecaps had no answer for Ross Achter, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Achter gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out four during his four innings of work.

A bright spot for the Brewster Whitecaps in the defeat was Joe Mockbee, who allowed only two runs while striking out five.

Hansen Butler was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
