A four-run explosion in the sixth inning hoisted the Yorkton Cardinals (4-2) to a 7-1 win over the Weyburn Beavers (1-3) at Tom Laing Park on Friday.

The Yorkton Cardinals scored in the sixth on a two-run single by Garret Kizer, an RBI single by Ben Schanding, a sacrifice fly by Jacob Cuch, , and a single by Caden Rosholt.

Kizer racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Yorkton Cardinals.

Justin Johnston picked up the win for the Yorkton Cardinals. Johnston pitched nine innings and allowed one earned run, 10 hits and three walks while striking out four.

Eric Morell (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out three.
