The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs (27-20) beat the Newark Pilots (28-21) 8-7 on Wednesday at Colburn Park behind Drew Arciuolo, who had two extra base hits.
He singled in the first, third, and fourth innings and tripled in the sixth inning.Joe DeSarro picked up the win for the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs. DeSarro allowed two earned runs, eight hits and no walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.
It was a good day at the plate for the Newark Pilots' Bo-Hao Huang. Huang went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the seventh inning and doubled in the eighth innings.
Solomon Bates was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
