The Utica Blue Sox get on top of the Oneonta Outlaws early but can't hang on in 5-3 loss

The Utica Blue Sox (12-5) built an early edge on Friday, but the Oneonta Outlaws (10-4) roared back to steal a 5-3 victory at Donovan Stadium.

While the Utica Blue Sox led until the sixth inning, the Oneonta Outlaws worked their way back and took the lead when Alex Malsch was hit by a pitch.

Kyle Ruedisili was solid at the plate for the Oneonta Outlaws. Ruedisili went 4-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first, third, fourth, and sixth innings.

The Utica Blue Sox had no answer for Cal Lawrence, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Utica Blue Sox managed just two hits off of the the Oneonta Outlaws' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his four innings of work.

Joe Spitaleri got on base three times in the game for the Utica Blue Sox. He singled in the first, fourth, and ninth innings.

Craig Prince (1-1) took the loss for the Utica Blue Sox. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
