Phil Madonna knocked in four runs, sparking the Elmira Pioneers (5-3) to a 7-6 victory over the Adirondack Trail Blazers (2-7) on Friday at Dunn Field.
He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second and ninth innings.The Adirondack Trail Blazers couldn't get anything going so long as Marc Galvan was on the hill. The Adirondack Trail Blazers managed just one hit off of the the Elmira Pioneers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.
Parker Caracci recorded his second win of the year for the Elmira Pioneers. Caracci struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
Pat Geraghty (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
