Emily Aspden was cold coming off the bench, but Aspden warmed up quickly as Aspden stroked a key pinch-hit single in the five to lead the North Idaho (28-9) to a 5-3 win over the Columbia Basin (27-14) on Sunday.
With the game scoreless in the fifth inning Aspden came to the plate and singled.
Kekuulani Haake racked up two RBIs on one hit for the North Idaho. He doubled in the sixth inning.
Kayla Andrews got on base four times in the game for the Columbia Basin.
Katie Barron got the win, running his season record to 12-5. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Barron struck out three, walked 10 and gave up five hits.
Andrews (23-6) took the loss for the Columbia Basin. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
