Anna Lennox was strong at the plate and on the mound in carrying the Pierce (13-17) to a 12-2 victory over the Skagit Valley on Friday at Heritage Recreation Center.
Lennox racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Pierce. He homered in the second inning and singled in the first and third innings.
Lennox got the win for the Pierce thanks to six strikeouts. Lennox allowed two earned runs, four hits and two walks over five innings.
Twelve runs in the first three innings helped the Pierce blow out the Skagit Valley (5-11). A two-run single by Lennox, an error, a sacrifice fly by Kailie Alama, and an RBI single by Kirstin Richmond in the first inning and an RBI single by Kailey Nobriga and a two-run home run by Lennox during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Pierce.
The Skagit Valley were led by Mandy Warner's hitting. Warner went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning.
Mallory Kruzich was charged with his ninth loss of the year. He allowed 12 runs in four innings, walked one and struck out none.
