An awesome effort by Kailie Alama hoisted the Pierce (12-15) to a 9-0 win in five innings over the Skagit Valley (5-10) on Friday at Heritage Recreation Center.
Alama racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Pierce. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the second and fifth innings.
Two pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter for the Pierce.
The offense exploded for the the Pierce in the fifth. The Pierce's bats caught fire leading to six runs. The Pierce scored in the fifth on , , , and a solo home run by Alama.
The Skagit Valley had no answer for Jessilyn Enlow, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Enlow held the Skagit Valley hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Mallory Kruzich (2-8) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked one and struck out three.
