The Big Bend (5-7) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Yakima Valley (1-13), recording a 12-3 victory on Friday at Big Bend Complex.

The game was decided quickly as the Big Bend exerted their will early with eight runs in the first three innings.

A three-run home run by Tifini Schorzman and a two-run home run by Olivia Harrison in the first inning and an error, , and during the second inning fueled the Big Bend's offense early.

Schorzman racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Big Bend.

Shayla Baker improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Big Bend. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Beth Anderson (0-8) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 12 runs in four innings, walked eight and struck out two.
