The Evansville Otters (30-21) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Traverse City Beach Bums (22-30), recording a 9-2 victory on Friday at Wuerfel Park.

With five runs in the first three innings, the Evansville Otters left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI double by Chris Breen and a three-run home run by Denzel Richardson in the first inning fueled the Evansville Otters' offense early.

Nik Balog boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Evansville Otters. He singled in the third and seventh innings and doubled in the ninth inning.

Preston Olson struck out six hitters en route to the the Evansville Otters win. Olson allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk over seven innings.

Dylan Stoops (5-3) took the loss for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked two and struck out four.
