A superb effort by Nolan Meadows lifted the Normal CornBelters (31-32) to an 8-2 win over the Lake Erie Crushers (29-34) on Friday at The Corn Crib.
Meadows rocked the Lake Erie Crushers with two home runs. Meadows went 3-4 in the game with three RBIs and three runs scored. Meadows homered in the fourth inning.
The Normal CornBelters blew out the Lake Erie Crushers thanks to 10 hits, including zero extra base hits. A home run by Craig LePre helped the Normal CornBelters score four runs in the sixth. The Normal CornBelters had three hits in the inning.
Michael Schweiss struck out six, paving the way for a the Normal CornBelters win. Schweiss allowed one earned run, four hits and seven walks over six innings.
Mike Devine (7-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked two and struck out four.
