Simpson helps the Columbia Basin down the Clark 10-5

Tanner Simpson had two extra base hits, sparking the Columbia Basin (6-0) to a 10-5 victory over the Clark (1-4) on Tuesday at Columbia Basin Baseball Field.

He tripled in the second inning, singled in the seventh inning, and doubled in the eighth inning.

The Clark had no answer for Clay Doughty, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Doughty held the Clark hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

A bright spot for the Clark in the defeat was Eric Little, who allowed only three runs while striking out five.

Zimmerman got on base four times in the game for the Clark. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the third and seventh innings.

Tanner Roundy got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed three runs over three innings. Roundy struck out one, walked none and gave up four hits.

Rian Bassett (0-1) took the loss for the Clark. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
