Megan Ulrey hit two home runs, but it wasn't enough to carry the Blue Mountain (2-4) to a win on Saturday, as the Blue Mountain fell to the Mt. Hood (6-1) 18-8 at BMCC Softball Field in five innings.
The two teams combined for 26 runs and 31 hits, including zero extra base hits.
Eight runs in the opening three innings allowed the Mt. Hood to easily put away the Blue Mountain. An RBI double by Megan Marcy and an RBI double by Sammie Byron in the first inning and an RBI single by Maddy Newkirk and a two-run single by Marcy during the second inning fueled the Mt. Hood's offense early.
Jazmayne Williams had three extra-base hits for the Mt. Hood. He doubled in the second and third innings and homered in the fifth inning.
Kendal Cox got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over 1 1/3 innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered two hits.
Ulrey couldn't get it done on the mound for the Blue Mountain, taking a loss. He allowed 18 runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two.
The Mt. Hood easily handled the Blue Mountain pitching as six hitters combined for 17 hits, 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
