Katie Barron was strong at the plate and on the mound in carrying the North Idaho (16-4) to a 9-7 victory over the Chemeketa on Sunday at Heinz/Ore-Ida Regional Softball.
Barron racked up three RBIs on four hits for the North Idaho. He homered in the first inning and singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.
Barron brought the heat against the Chemeketa (5-9) during his outing. Barron held the Chemeketa hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.
Megan Henshaw racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Chemeketa. He homered in the first inning.
Henshaw (3-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed nine runs in six innings, walked three and struck out two.
