The Lower Columbia get key pinch-hit in 5-1 victory over the Edmonds

Hannah Rothwell was cold coming off the bench, but Rothwell warmed up quickly as Rothwell stroked a key pinch-hit single in the one to lead the Lower Columbia (26-8) to a 5-1 win over the Edmonds (16-13) on Saturday at RAC - Lacey.

With the game scoreless in the first inning Rothwell came to the plate and singled, bringing home Nicole Bolasky.

Rothwell racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lower Columbia.

Bolasky paced the Lower Columbia at the plate. Bolasky went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first, third, and fourth innings.

The Edmonds' lineup had no answer for Krystina Fischer. The Edmonds managed just three hits off of the the Lower Columbia's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his five innings of work.

Madison Budnick had an impressive outing against the Lower Columbia's lineup. The Lower Columbia managed just one hit off of Budnick, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his three innings of work.

Hailey Malakowski (13-10) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
