The Mt. Hood (1-1) jumped out to an early lead on the Treasure Valley (2-3) and captured a 9-1 victory on Saturday at Columbia Playfields.
With five runs in the first three innings, the Mt. Hood left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
A passed ball in the first inning and an RBI single by Megan Marcy and a three-run double by Kayla Byers during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Mt. Hood.Marcy racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Mt. Hood.
The Treasure Valley had no answer for Byers, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Treasure Valley managed just one hit off of the the Mt. Hood's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his four innings of work.
Francesca Rodriquez couldn't get it done on the hill for the Treasure Valley, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in five innings, walked six and struck out three.
