A walk-off single from Gunnar Troutwine brought home the winning run for the Chatham Anglers (12-19) in a 4-3 victory over the Brewster Whitecaps at Veterans Field on Tuesday.
Troutwine was hot from the plate for the Chatham Anglers. Troutwine went 1-1. He singled in the ninth inning.
The Brewster Whitecaps (13-17) couldn't get anything going as long as Moises Ceja was pitching. Ceja held the Brewster Whitecaps hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Despite the loss, the Brewster Whitecaps' Zacary Lowther dominated the Chatham Anglers' batters, giving up two runs and striking out eight.
Hanson Butler was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
