An awesome effort by J.P. Sorma hoisted the Pompano Beach Clippers (21-8) to an 11-0 win over the Palm Beach Xtreme (23-13) on Wednesday at Pompano Beach Park.
Sorma blasted two home runs for the Pompano Beach Clippers. Sorma went 3-5 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Sorma homered in the first, first, first, first, and second innings.
The biggest inning for the Pompano Beach Clippers was the first. In the inning the Pompano Beach Clippers scored six runs. The Pompano Beach Clippers scored in the first on an RBI home run by Sorma, a three-run home run by Sorma, and a two-run home run by Benito Varela.
Ryan Stark pitched lights out for the Pompano Beach Clippers. The Palm Beach Xtreme managed just one hit off of Stark, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his three innings of work.
Nate Mcmaster improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Pompano Beach Clippers. Mcmaster struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits.
Andrew Don (0-3) took the loss for the Palm Beach Xtreme. He allowed 11 runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked six and struck out five.
