An excellent effort by Jacie McDaniels lifted the Walla Walla (21-18) to a 15-7 win in five innings over the Big Bend (8-25) on Saturday at Walla Walla Community College S.
McDaniels hit two home runs for the Walla Walla. McDaniels went 2-3 in the game with four RBIs and three runs scored. McDaniels homered in the second and third innings.
Eleven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Walla Walla to easily put away the Big Bend. and during the first inning and an RBI double by Mikayla Faulkner and a two-run home run by McDaniels in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Walla Walla.
Even though Brittney Bradley allowed seven runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his eighth of the season. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered nine hits.
Shayla Baker (4-12) took the loss for the Big Bend. He allowed 15 runs in four innings, walked four and struck out six.
The Walla Walla easily handled the Big Bend pitching as six hitters combined for 12 hits, 13 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
